They are usually very laid back, like to sleep, and like to be loved all the time. So you have decided to adopt a greyhound What to do next? Study the breed thoroughly and be sure this is the kind of dog who will fit your lifestyle; buy some books, research the internet, visit a greyhound adoption group, and ask questions. The best way to see greyhounds is to stop by “meet and greet” events at pet stores. You can talk to the volunteers and get close to greyhounds; ask questions as you feel necessary. We will all be happy to help in any way we can. Check the webpage of the adoption group closest to you for event dates. Some adoption groups will require you to set up an appointment before adopting a greyhound. Why is that? We believe in personalized care and will take as long as it will be necessary to answer all your questions and show you greyhounds. Appointments can take up to 2 hours; and there can also be a follow up visit to your home with the purpose of trying to fit the right greyhound in the right environment.
